Singapore shares open 2.79 points higher on Monday

SINGAPORE shares opened marginally higher on Monday in spite of more prominent vulnerabilities in the fallout of the London assaults throughout the end of the week and weaker-than-anticipated US employments report late on Friday.

The benchmark Straits Times Index crawled up 2.79 focuses or 0.09 for each penny to 3,242.80.

At 9.02am, 40.4 million offers worth S$66.4 million changed hands, with gainers beating failures 93 to 35.

Among the actives were Singtel, Golden Agri-Resources and OCBC Bank.
