IndoAgri, the agribusiness group and manufacturer of edible oils in Indonesia, returned to profitability in 2Q16 with earnings of 30 billion rupiah ($3.1 million) from a loss of 33 billion rupiah a year ago.

The group achieved higher profits on stronger contribution from its edible oils and fats (EOF) division and foreign currency gain.

For 1H16, the group also swung back into the black, posting earnings of 125 billion rupiah compared to a loss of 29 billion rupiah a year ago. Revenue was flat at 6.7 trillion rupiah

Singapore Hot stock Update of Market

EMS Energy has sunk into half-year losses of $2.9 million from a profit of $1.2 million a year ago on lower sales.

Revenue for the six months to June stood at roughly $16 million, down 64.5% from a year ago.

The weaker top line was due to the reduction in revenue from its Marine and Offshore & Trading segment which fell to $9.91 million from $38.88 million a year ago.

The Water Treatment segment contributed the remaining $6.06 million to the group's revenue.

Singapore Hot stock Update of Market

DBS Group Holdings, Singapore's biggest lender, posted a 6% drop in 2Q profit, hit by a sharp jump in provisions for bad loans as firms in the oil and gas services sector struggle to service debt.

DBS's net profit came in at $1.05 billion in the three months ended June, versus a $1.12 billion profit a year earlier.

This is line with an average forecast of $1.051 billion from six analysts polled by Reuters. The poll was taken before DBS disclosed its $700 million exposure to troubled oilfield services firm Swiber Holdings.

UBS is maintaining its "neutral" call on SingPost with a lower price target of $1.53 while CIMB is keeping its "hold" with an unchanged target price of $1.49.

SingPost on Thursday posted a decline in 1Q17 earnings to $35.9 million, down 23% on the absence of one-off gains. This was significantly worse than UBS's net profit estimate of $43.2 million, but in line with CIMB's full-year forecast.

Excluding one-offs, recurring net profit was $38.5m, down 11% from a year ago.

A quarterly interim dividend of 1.5 cents was declared.

UOB Kay Hian is turning negative on the offshore and marine (O&M) sector, downgrading its rating to "underweight" on mounting liquidity pressure on the sector amid a prolonged downturn.

In a Monday report, analysts Foo Zhiwei and Andrew Chow say that the banks' ability to continually support O&M companies should the downturn be prolonged is now in jeopardy.

"Without [the banks'] support, [O&M] companies are likely to run into cash flow concerns that either sees them default, or require capital raising," explain the analysts.

Mainboard-listed HLH Group on Tuesday posted earnings of $3.47 million for 2Q16, compared to $185,000 in the same quarter last year.

This was mainly due to a revaluation gain of $4.0 million on HLH's D'Kranji Resort, the company said in a SGX filing.

HLH's 2Q revenue grew 29% to $1.89 million from $1.47 million last year, mainly attributed to an

 increase in cooperation income from the Group's joint operations with Zhong Fu International Investment.
